It has been reported that Halle Berry and her man Olivier Martinez are engaged. The proposal took place over the Christmas holidays and Martinez apparently went all out with a custom made emerald and diamond ring designed by Gurhan.
Ninja Daily would like to extend a very sincere congratulations to Golden Globe winners Octavia Spencer and Idris Elba. Spencer won the Golden Globe for her supporting role in The Help, which in my humble opinion was well deserved.
Idris Elba also won for a supporting role but for the movie Luther.
The 2012 BET Honors was an illustrious affair that acknowledged the accomplishments of some phenomenal artists. The First Lady Michelle Obama, brought this award ceremony to a whole new level when she made an appearance to present a much deserved honor to Mya Angelou. Her appearance was no doubt the highlight of the event and Michelle didn't disappoint, especially with her choice of fashion. She rocked a regal red, one shoulder dress and cut an amazing silhouette. She even overshadowed her much younger co-host Gabrielle Union (pictured below).
Mariah Carey, Stevie Wonder and Spike Lee were among some of the other black artists to be honored on the night. I have to agree with the others who have commented that there was some beautiful fashion that came out of this evening. Here are some of the fashion highlights...
The amazingly beautiful Kelly Rowland has kicked off 2012 with a big bang. The former Destiny's Child star turned solo artist, has achieved several notable career milestones during this new year.
She was specially selected by music icon Mariah Carey for Mariah's BET tribute. This is a huge honor for Rowland as she now has the stamp of approval from one of the greatest musicians to ever do it, on one of the most prolific platforms in music; especially black music. After the tribute Mariah tweeted Kelly to express her gratitude.

After the event fans were not only blown away by her talent, but they were also floored by her stunning fashion moves and undeniable star presence. Critics all agreed that she looked breath-taking in her electric purple dress and I couldn't agree more!!!
Kelly Rowland's talent has also been acknowledged and celebrated in more informal settings like the 30th birthday of basketball player Dwayne Wade, who happens to be dating her dear friend actress Gabrielle Union. She was asked by Gabrielle to sing Happy Birthday to Dwayne during the party held at the Setai Miami. Gabrielle intro'd Kelly with these extremely flattering and albeit humorous words;
"Thank you everybody for coming to my honey’s 30th! Thank God he’s 30. I was almost starting to sound like a pervert but because my honey is all about the love of chocolate there’s no badder bitch on the planet who represents the chocolate better than Miss Kelly Rowland. If you needed a little motivation to get your ass back in the gym in 2012 Kelly Rowland and her tight ass abs are here for a little treat."
